The National Education Association Rhode Island (NEARI) voted unanimously at their September executive committee meeting Monday night to endorse Democratic candidate Gabe Amo for the First Congressional District in the November General Election:
“NEARI is proud to endorse Gabe Amo for CD1 in the General Election," said NEA Rhode Island President Val Lawson. "Gabe supports the work of public education, believes in a fair wage for educators with a focus on recruitment, retention, and elevating the critical role teachers play in the lives of Rhode Island families. He shares NEARI's core value of ensuring every child, regardless of zip code, has access to a quality public education. We know he will advocate for the freedom to teach and learn in a safe, welcoming public school and we look forward to supporting his campaign into November."
