The RI Federation of Garden Clubs offers a variety of art and poetry contests, open to students in grades K-12. Some deadlines have passed, but others are in January or beyond.

The Bill of Rights Institute is sponsoring a "We the Students" prompted essay contest for grades 8-12. There are several prizes offered, including Boy Scout and Girl Scout awards for individuals and troops. Deadline - February 7, 2016.

The National History Day in Rhode Island celebration features a contest for grades 6-12 in the areas of:
- Exhibit (individual or group)
- Historical Paper (individual only)
- Documentary (individual or group)
- Performance (individual or group)
- Website (individuals or group)
Schools are encouraged to hold class or school-wide contests to narrow the entries for the statewide competition. Registration will be open between January 15 and March 19, 2016. There is a fee to enter.
The RI Arson Watch Reward Program is holding an art/poster contest for students in grades 5-8. Deadline is March 9, 2016. Winning posters may be used in the annual fire prevention calendar or other materials.
