The Chris and Gloria Heisler Memorial Classroom Grant Program

Chris and Gloria Heisler Memorial Classroom Grant Program

Chris and Gloria Heisler were educators and strong NEA Rhode Island union supporters throughout their careers. Chris was a professor at the University of Rhode Island and Gloria was a classroom teacher in South Kingstown.

For information about starting a legacy or memorial grant with the NEARI Children's Fund, please contact Greg Brennick: gbrennick@neari.org

The Children's Fund Believes Public Education is “A Promise That Must be Kept.”

This continues to be the driving force behind our determination that no child in our schools suffer personal embarrassment or discomfort while trying to learn. This includes having the necessary supplies to succeed in our education system.

We honor the Heisler’s memory and their dedication to students by awarding grants in their name to answer students’ needs.

The grant application is open to any NEARI member and can be requested for a new teaching project, special needs sensory items, to subsidize a classroom field trip, classroom supplies, snacks, or anything else to enhance students’ learning.

The grant application period is currently closed.
